Personal History

Ivan joined leading South African law firm Sonnenberg, Hoffmann and Galombik (now Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs) as an Articled Clerk in 1966. He became a partner of the firm in 1971 and was appointed Head of the Litigation department in 1978. In 1981 he relocated to London, where he was a founding partner, shareholder, and director of the International Trident Trust Group. He went on to practice as a partner at Green David Conway and the London office of Sonnenberg, Hoffman, and Galombik before becoming Director of Stenham PLC and, subsequently, Managing Director of Stenham Gestinor PLC. His decades of experience in the fields of international tax, trust administration and advice, and property investment and structuring bring a wealth of knowledge to his role at Fides.

BA LLB from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, LLM (Tax) from Kings College, University of London.
